The 2026 CCDAs feature 4 categories:

Example: An organization that has implemented a mentorship program connecting newcomers with established community members, a community leader who has organized a series of dialogues between diverse faith groups.
INSPIRE Award
Presented to an outstanding youth or young adult (15-30 yrs.) who has demonstrated initiative, leadership, and commitment towards advancing cultural diversity in their community and/or New Brunswick.
Example: A youth or young adult who has started an ethnocultural club in their high school or campus; a young adult who has published a book or articles on multiculturalism, immigration, and/or cultural diversity.
IMPACT Award
Presented to an individual or organization that has made a significant impact in advancing cultural diversity, newcomer integration, and multiculturalism in their community and/or New Brunswick through volunteer-based initiatives.
Example: A community leader who has organized an annual multicultural festival for the past decade, a business that has implemented a diversity and inclusion strategy resulting in a more representative workforce, and a non-profit organization that has created a ground-breaking program to address the unique challenges faced by refugees.
RISE Award
Presented to an individual, organization, or initiative in the settlement sector whose professional efforts have helped others rise by amplifying voices, creating opportunities, and enabling leadership among newcomers and equity-seeking communities in New Brunswick. Unlike the other awards, this one recognizes initiatives that are part of the nominee’s paid work or professional role.
Example: An employee who co-created a peer support network for newcomers, or an organization that created leadership pathways for underrepresented individuals.
Please note: NBMC will present each award to an English and a French recipient.
Winners will be announced in October and notified in early September.
