This book addresses topics of key concern to criminal justice and emergency service professionals, including cultural awareness, prejudice, bias, racial profiling, hate and bias crimes, and cross-cultural communication. It also covers issues of workforce diversity such as the recruitment and retention of minorities.

This book speaks o the challenges of volunteering in an environment with languages differences and cultural differences. Building off of theories and concepts in intercultural communication, it offers strategies to overcome these challenges in the volunteer setting.
Cultural chauvinism : intercultural communication and the politics of superiority
This book critiques the notion of ‘Western values’ and their centrality in international relations and diplomacy. By analyzing the Western cultural groups sense of superiority over others, the author is able to explore how the basis of the concept of cultural chauvinism is inherently flawed.
The diversity training handbook : a practical guide to understanding & changing attitudes (Clements, Phillip and John Jones. Kogan Page, 2008)
This book provides guidelines for managing prejudice and stereotyping in the workplace. The authors detail how to develop a diversity training program that can break down unconscious bias and change attitudes.
UNESCO Crossings Institute for Conflict-Sensitive Reporting and Intercultural Dialogue, University of Oregon
This podcast brings together 2 different pursuits: intercultural and inter-religious dialogue on the one hand and conflict-sensitive journalism on the other. They produce a series of podcasts, including “Understanding conflict-sensitive reporting practices in Kenya.
